Celebrating Autism At Emory 2021

On April 1st, AAO members decorated the quad gold with balloons, fairy lights, and posters with autism facts. We launched autism awareness month surrounded by the support of our peers lighting the quad gold at sunset!

Despite the pandemic and all the adjustments our students had to go through this year, we were able to get out a group of students here to share their autism stories and talk about the meaning of what celebrating autism means.

On April 4th, Dr. Carter launced our speakers series and talked about the history of autism inclusion in schools and how we need to improve the environment for neurodiverse students. We were all deeply inspired by his research and ideas for innovation.
