Autism in China vs. US and UK
During my time at the University of Oxford, I was able to do research and present on the timeline of autism in the west compared to China. Having a cousin who lives in Beijing diagnosed with ASD made this topic personal and deeply rewarding to learn about.
I was able to talk about this research with the Chinese American Museum in Washington DC as part of their Young American's series which can be found here and on their Facebook page (https://www.chineseamericanmuseum.org/).
I have posted my presentation slides and hope they give you insight on how far our autism community has gotten us in terms of acceptance and science here in the US and UK. Also on how essential autism awareness is. We cannot take what we have for granted nor should we stop trying to make progress.
